- How this all began
All five of us work for Williams MINI a fabulous Dealership located in Rochdale, Lancashire. We are all a little crazy but very passionate about MINI and very proud & excited that MINI is one of the partners to the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics.
As a team we all wanted to contribute a lot more to the MINI London 2012 Celebration and after much brain storming we all decided to host an event that would help us raise as much money as possible for a truly amazing charity who dedicate their time and effort transforming lives through sport.
Each year many thousands of men, women and children become disabled due to an accident or illness. Many more are born with a disability which means they need to use a wheel chair. WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport, provides opportunities, facilities and equipment which enable disabled people to play sport and lead healthy active lives.
We all personally want to take part and complete this mammoth cycling challenge. We will be cycling 170 miles from Morecombe to Bridlington (Coast to Coast) with no overnight stop. Luckily we have 4 volunteers who will be joining us on our journey through the night and day in two MINI Countryman 4×4 support vehicles which will carry all our health and maintenance needs should anything go wrong.
Morecombe to Bridlington 170 miles Cycling Challenge for WheelPower will take place on the 15th to 16th October 2011
From the the whole team, THANK YOU
